What Bloodstream Flows Do

Bloodstream flows were added in the Next Fest update leading to launch: directional currents in vein connectors between rooms that push your soft-body pathogen along predefined lanes. They appear across organs once you unlock inter-room travel, stacking with Lung airflow but usually at lower intensity in early organs.

Flows reward planning on the fast-travel map—entering a vein against the current wastes dodge charges and Overcharge uptime. Sprint dodge helps cross opposing lanes when optional elites sit on the far side of a connector.

Co-op Diatom suffers when halves disagree on entering flow nodes—call direction before vein transitions in Remote Play sessions.

Routing With Flows and Map Generation

Combine flow awareness with map generation rules: dead ends now always reward chests or organelles, so detours through vein links are safer post-Update 08. Hard rooms on map edges often connect via flow-heavy veins—skip when low HP.

Bloodstream paths compete with core chest branches—spend cores on chests only after reading room difficulty icons on vein exits. Environmental hazards guide covers villi and acid separate from flow push.

Speedrunners align flow direction with boss approach vectors to minimize backtracking. Collection runners take every vein link for discovery and elite blueprint chances.

Build Interactions

Ballistic Flagellum and kite builds use flow speed boosts to escape macrophage packs—extended dodge Flagella counter opposing currents. Melee Gyrase builds struggle in narrow vein chambers—clear connector elites before committing stamina spins.
