Settings and Options
Pathogenic PC settings: cursor size, fast physics, shader pre-cache, seed copy UI, and performance options explained.
Accessibility and UI Settings
Pathogenic added cursor size options—small, normal, bigger, and biggest—for mouse aim clarity on high-resolution displays. Twin-stick aim precision matters for T-cell beam dodges and editor Tab placement—scale cursor before blaming build power on missed dodges.
Launch-week patches added Text Size under a new UI tab: Normal, Large, and Extra Large. Steam Deck defaults to Extra Large for Verified readability. Attack Modifiers were renamed Attack Infusers in UI text alongside tooltip rewrites.
The run seed displays as a clickable copy field in HUD elements added pre-launch. Use it with our seed sharing guide for daily practice groups.
Performance Options
Shaders pre-cache on startup with a loading screen to reduce in-game stutter—expect longer boot after major updates. Improved Fast Physics setting returns CPU savings with minimal soft-body accuracy loss on low-end PCs and Steam Deck.
Camera zoom adapts to room size automatically. Intestine received a dedicated zoom decrease for wider chamber readability. The July 22 update added a manual camera zoom slider in Settings plus more adaptive framing when room size shifts between Skin closets and Lung arenas.
FPS cap options now include 30 and 45 in addition to standard limits—useful for Steam Deck battery life. Graphics and physics settings save per-machine after launch-week patches and no longer sync through Steam Cloud, so re-tune when switching between desktop and portable play.
Adjust zoom before Brain puzzle segments, dense minion rooms, or solo Diatom dual-half editor work where default framing feels tight on ultrawide or Steam Deck seven-inch displays.
Input and Mod Compatibility
Gamepad and mouse simultaneous play is supported after Update 4—ideal for Diatom co-op with keyboard left half and controller right half. Rebind keys in Steam overlay if defaults conflict with Remote Play guest inputs.
Disable Steam Workshop mods when testing settings or reporting performance bugs—mods can override UI scale and cursor options silently. See steam workshop guide for mod isolation steps.
