Latest Pathogenic Updates

Post-launch patches add core chests, intestinal villi hazards, mid-run save-and-continue, Remote Play Together co-op, and Update 4 multi-hit organelles. Daily seeds still rotate with fifty percent random weapon starts.

Start with Remote Play Together co-op if you play Diatom online, read pathogen unlocks for all seven parasites, then explore multi-hit organelles and environmental hazards before pushing save-and-continue runs into Heart.

Pathogenic Wiki FAQ

What is Pathogenic?

Pathogenic is a 2D roguelike twin-stick shooter by Aberrant Labs and Slug Disco where you play as a parasite invading a human host. You loot and graft 120+ organelles to evolve your pathogen while fighting immune cells and rival parasites across procedurally generated organs.

When did Pathogenic release and on which platforms?

Pathogenic launched on Steam for PC on July 16, 2026 at a $9.99 base price. Console versions have not been announced at launch.

How many pathogens and organs are in the game?

There are seven playable pathogens—Bacteria, Helminth, Spore, Amoeba, Nanobot, Protozoa, and Virus—and six standard organs (Skin, Intestine, Stomach, Liver, Lungs, Heart) plus a hidden secret level.

What are the default PC controls?

WASD moves your pathogen, the mouse aims and fires, Space dodges, Tab opens the organelle editor, and M opens the fast-travel map. Full rebinding is available in Settings.

What is plasmid progression?

Plasmids are permanent upgrades earned from plasmid fragments collected during runs. Each pathogen has its own plasmid tree unlocking new organelles, stats, and challenge options between attempts.

Does the Steam demo progress transfer to the full game?

Yes. Plasmid progress from the demo carries over to the full release on the same Steam account.

What are Pathogenic challenge modes?

Fifteen challenge modes modify run rules. Examples include Phagocytosis (melee only), Metamorphosis (reroll organelles each room), Hyperplasia (timed runs), and Photosynthesis (no weapon organelles).

Is there multiplayer co-op?

Yes. Co-op Diatom supports online multiplayer where each player controls their own pathogen with scaled enemy difficulty and shared map discovery.

Is ppathogenic.wiki an official site?
